Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron

At the heart of Paper Sailors Rock’s Australian sail training program, the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly provides the perfect starting point for developing your sailing skills.

As our foundation training centre, RQYS gives trainees access to the sheltered yet variable waters of Moreton Bay – ideal for learning boat handling and navigation a under real-world conditions.

Through RYA shore-based and afloat training, sailors of all levels can progress from foundational competencies to advanced qualifications with personalised instruction on a comfortable, sea-kindly yacht.

RQYS also presents a fantastic departure point for our North Queensland Mile Builder journeys.

Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania

The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania in Sandy Bay extends Paper Sailors Rock’s reach into Tasmania’s stunning cruising grounds.

Here, budding and experienced sailors can undertake RYA practical training and exam preparation in diverse conditions on the Derwent River and beyond.

With expert guidance and a supportive learning environment, RYCT helps candidates build confidence and proficiency as they work toward skipper-level RYA certifications.

Here, we learn to manage the varying conditions of Tasmanian waters while maximising on its beauty and rugged coastline.

RYCT also offers a stunning destination for our extended mile builders south, from Sydney to Hobart.
